Program, control and monitor
Like many other smart devices now in the marketplace for homes, your smart thermostat is digitally connected to the cloud. Using your Wi-Fi or other wireless networks, it can be programmed, controlled and monitored 24/7 from wherever you are.
A smart thermostat can “learn” the habits of your family and adjust the temperature accordingly. So, while everyone is at work or school, temperature settings might be raised or lowered to conserve energy (and money). Then it readjusts the setting for more comfort during the hours when family members are typically home.
The smart technology also allows the homeowner to change settings “on the fly,” so to speak. For instance, if the family leaves for vacation and only remembers later that the home temperature hadn’t been reset to conserve energy, the setting can be changed from a smartphone app.
All of that might be impressive enough. But the truth is, your smart thermostat can do even more for your family.
